An improved strain of the popular Haekensack, being about two weeks earlier and retaining all of us former excellence, making it a very valuable sort for market or home use; large size, deeply ribbed nearly round, flattened at the ends; skm and flesh green; quality delicious. Green Fleshed Osage. This is a sport of the well-known salmon-colored Osage, with its fine grain and delicious sweetness; medium early, very hardy and prolific. When ripe it is of a bright vellow with light green in the grooves. New Giant. (Shumway's.) A new variety from Mexico. Whole fields of them are said to aver- age 18 to 20 lbs. each, and single specimens have weighed 30 lbs. Seeds very large, showing a dis- tinct variety. In form it is nearly round, and deeply ribbed. The skin when ripe is of a creamy white, with very rich, sweet, salmon-colored flesh, of a pleasant flavor. Pkt. 3c.; oz. 7c.; % lb. 20c; lb. 60c. The Banquet. This is a medium size, very flat at both ends and beautifully netted. Flesh very thick, of a rich salmon color, and unsur- passed in quality. The Princess, or Perfection.
