Within the same spaceis included the Art Gallery, but with that single exception it is•devoted to the purposes named. The entrance to this portion of thepark for thousands of visitors is the gate at 57th street. Oncewithin this gate a magnificent vista greets the eye of the looks down the magnificent avenue directly east toward LakeMichigan, and upon either hand are the beautiful houses estab-hshed tor headquarters by the various commonwealths which formthe American Union.
