ISLWYN HUGHES, a househowner on the seafront, helped by his son, board up the doors and windows of his property Aberystwyth University authorities closed their seafront halls of residence as a precautionary measure at this afternoon in advance of forecast high winds and stormy seas. Of the 600 students living on the seafront, about 450 are in university-owned accommodation. They are being offered alternative accommodation on the university campus, or financial help to return home for the weekend.
