He thenentered the University of Micliigan, where he wasgraduated Bachelor of Arts in 1875 and Master ofArts in 1879. From 1S81 to 1S87 he wasAssistant Professor of English and Rhetoric in the. BENJAllIN LHAliMAN Ellkr University of Michigan. He was Docciit in Philos-ophy at Clark University in 1S89-1S91). In 1894he received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy onexamination at the University of Michigan. Duringthe year 1894-1895 he was Professor ad interim ofPhilosophy and Pedagogy at the University of Colo-rado. Since 1896 he has been joint agent of theChicago and Northwestern and the Atchison, To-peka, and Santa Il^ Railways, and of the Americanand Wells-Fargo Express companies, at Superior,Nebraska. He is author of A Ikief History ofGreek Philosopliy (18S9), and a History ofModern Philosophy (2 \o\%., 1892). He pub-lished a translation of Erdmanns Grundriss derGeschichte der Philosophic des Neunzehnten Jahr-hunderts (1891), and of the same authors Metaphysik (1896). In 1892 he brought outa translation of Hegels Rechts-, Pflichten-, undReligionslehre. He has also contributed a numberof articles to the philosophical journal
