Lago d'Orta taken from where the lake turns into a stream that exits flowing north in the direction of the Alps. It is the only lake in the area that does this, a fact that puzzles not you and me alone but the ancient Romans as well, who called the place where Omega now stands, the 'basso cusio' the low place!
