On the left of the photograph, a man waits for a bus at the Wardour Street bus stop, and vehicles, (including a bus and a taxi), and pedestrians go about their daily business. Crosses of tape can just be seen on the windows of the building behind the bus stop, to the left of the photograph. These would prevent the glass from shattering in an air raid.
