In Baltimore, Ray Levy, the operator of the Little Gem,discovered four reels in a box blazing briskly. He threw onthe house lights, stopped his projector, and quietly informedthe audience that his machine had broken and would requireseveral minutes to repair. He then removed the burningfilms to the street. In doing so he was burned on the handsand arms. On his return he told the audience that the breakwas too serious to admit of immediate repair, and, as it was10:30 oclock, dismissed the house.
