PCR

Photo essay from laboratory. Hospital of Meaux (77), France. Laboratory of molecular biology. Identification and quantification of micro-organisms by quantitative PCR (Cobas Amplicor from Roche) - Distribution of samples in the microtubes placed in the tube rack in crown (1). The automaton Cobas Amplicor enables the identification and quantification of viruses (viruses of hepatites B and C, HIV1, cytomegalovirus) and bacteria (Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Mycobacterium tuberculosis) in the blood. This device is composed of two thermal cyclers, of an incubator and of a spectrophotometer. See images 0103408 (1) and 0103508 (2) for the preparation of samples, 0103608 (3) and 0103708 (4) for the positionning of the crown in the automaton, 0103808 (5) for the results of the analysis, 0103908 (6) for the tubes after the reaction.
