The newly opened Urban Farm in Battery Park in Lower Manhattan in New York on Sunday, June 19, 2011. The Urban Farm occupies a full acre and has 80 organic vegetable plots available to students and the public. The bamboo fence surrounding the Urban Farm is made from bamboo stakes repurposed from artists Mike and Doug Starns' installation Big Bambu installed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Roof garden 2010.
