1870: St Peter's 15th Century Hospital, Bristol, England was a timbered, gabled mansion and could be found to the rear of St Peter's church. In 1607 the building was bought by a rich merchant named Robert Aldworth who went about completely rebuilding it. In later years (circa 1634) it passed into the ownership of Thomas Elbridge and later still for a short period of time the building was the Bristol Mint. Iit was destroyed in the Bristol Blitz in 1940.
