The Kimball tie, Fig. 29, triedon the Chicago & Alton Ry., has two concrete blocks 7X9X36 ins., 2 ftapart, connected by a pair of 3-in. steel channels 8 ft. long and 2 ins. the channels are spacing pieces into which are screwed bolts holdinghard-wood blocks 3X9X18 ins.
