DASHPOT GOVERNOR. The eccentric is mounted on aplate G, pivoted at P, and is connected to E B, No. i, and E B, No. 2, by connecting rods in such a manner thatthe action of centrifugal force in throwingthe weights B B outward cause the centerof the eccentric to swing toward the centerof the shaft. The springs pivoted at Krock against the centrifugal force and holdthe weights in a determinate position foreach speed. The dashpot simply restrainsthe motion when too rapid and tends toprevent STEAM POWER APPLIANCES. 97
