To obtain good results it is wise to manure the soil well andgive them a fairly open situation, and an occasional soaking of water during very dryweather. Once planted they require no further attention for several years, but it isadvisable to renew them about every fifth year. _ The flowering period is from the early part of July to the middle of Septemberand they grow to heights varying from 1 to 3 and even 4 feet.
