Remarks—The circumstances under which either Lisfrancs or Chopartsoperation would be performed being very different, it is hardly desirable toattempt any comparative estimate of their value. Lisfrancs operation iscertainly preferable to Choparts when it is admissible, in consequence of itsaffording a greater length of foot, and thus adding to the patients stability,and, with a good shoe, constructed as shown in Plate LXXVIII.
