The shape is quadrangular, and the panels contain alternately figuresof fauns and bacchantes. The attitudes are varied, but all are full ofenergy and vigour. A delicate upright ornament of flowers fills smallpanels where the corners are cut away, and a bold scroll occupies thelowest moulding at the foot. The sentiment of the design is clearlyderived from the antique, rendered in the masterly but characteristicstyle of the last half of the fifteenth century.
