Dr. Amos Nourse ofMaine, has made some investigations far back in EnglishHistory, and his impression is, that the race of Noursesis of Welch origin;.and the name in England is, andalways has been, spelled Nourse; the o was for a timegenerally dropped from the name in this country, but isnow as generally resumed.
