SASEBO, Japan (Feb. 8, 2017) Sailors assigned to the Whidbey Island-class amphibious dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42) pose for a photo during a community relation project at the Omura Kodomo Children's Home in Sasebo, Japan. Germantown continues to foster stronger ties with Japan and the local community through community service projects. Germantown, attached to Amphibious Squadron 11, is currently undergoing a dry-docking selected restricted availability (DSRA) to upgrade systems and improve habitability as the ship continues to serve forward as a crisis response platform.
