Lumber and logging industries arestill the most important pursuits of thepeople, but the agricultural lines are rapid-ly forging ahead. Montesano is located inone of the richest valleys in the state andhas no superior as a dairy section. Thereare several churches in the city, goodschools, a newspaper, a fire department,lighting and water systems, fraternal organ-izations, etc., making Montesano very de-sirable as a home town. Besides good rail-road service the city is at the head of navi-gation upon the Chehalis , as the stranger enters the city,impresses him as a metropolitan center, well away from the
