He studied the pianoforte with Alois Reekendorf,first privately (1891-94) and then with him at the Leipsic Conservatory(1894-98). In 1899 he took lessons of Eugen .dAlbert at 1900 he has given concert tours. In 1905 he taught in the RoyalCollege of Music, Manchester (Eng.) and in that year won the Rubin-stein prize of 5,000 francs. In 1907-08 he taught in summer vacationmaster courses at Sondershausen.
