From the reed the yarn is drawn under a cloth covered friction roll, which also serves to catch loose ends. Thence the yarn passes through the the guide wires, and is wound on duillerSpindle The spindles are positively driven bybands from the cylinders revolving at about320 revolutions per minute. The bobbins arefrictionally driven from the spindles by meansof a friction washer of flannel interposedbetween the bobbin collar and top of spindlewhirl. The bobbin is prevented from slippingon its collar by a small pin projecting from thecollar into a slot in the base of the this method of driving the bobbins, break-age of yarn on account of excessive tension isavoided, and the speed of the bobbin issufficient to wind up all the yarn as it comes \ ^ from the rolls. ^Z£Z^^ The builder motion has a quick return, which securely binds the yarn on the quill,forming a hard bobbin suitable for weaving orrewinding.
