A12 motorway, The Hague, The Netherlands. Saturday 14th September 2024. The police have removed all climate protesters from the A12 in The Hague. 370 people have been arrested. 350 on the grounds of the Public Demonstrations Act and twenty for obstruction and vandalism, including applying graffiti. The evacuation started shortly after 17:00 and lasted around two hours. The A12 was absent of the police for around five-hours as they too had a protest for a new early retirement scheme. The police on orders of Mayor Van Zanen gave the order to remove all protesters. Demonstrators who did not comply were arrested. The protesters were carried on stretchers on city buses.
