The Prosper coking plant is the last coking plant operated by the successor company of Ruhrkohle AG, RAG Deutsche Steinkohle AG. It was taken over by the ArcelorMittal steel group in 2011. The coking plant is designed for an annual production of almost two million tons of coke. In the back, illuminated in blue, is the Bottrop sewage treatment plant, also known as the Emscher sewage treatment plant, one of four central sewage treatment plants on the Emscher River.
