View NW of the SW arc of the Ring of Brodgar (Brogar) Neolithic stone circle & henge monument on the Ness of Brodgar, Mainland, Orkney, with rock-cut ditch to the L. There were 60 equally spaced standing stones arranged in a perfect circle 125 megalithic yards (340ft, ) across within a circular henge monument originally defined by an earthen bank and rock-cut ditch around 12 feet () deep and 30 feet (9m) wide. The photograph was taken in early July as the sun was setting around 10pm.
