Dambulla, Sri Lanka - 11 February 2014 Dambulla cave temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla is a World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka, situated in the central part of the country. It dates back to the first century BCE. The temple is famed for the its huge Golden Buddha, as well as its numerous cave temples which can be reached by a lung-shattering climb up several hundred steps, in searing tropical heat. But it's always worth paying attention, even when exhausted - here is an intimate shots of shadows and blossom half way up the climb.
