Hooded tomb, St Michael’s Church, Trelawnyd, Flintshire, Wales. One of 7 tombs to the Wynne family. Uniquely local style.


Hooded tombs are a feature of some North Wales churchyards. This one forms part of a group of 7 C17th & C18th tombs along the east side of the church recording members of the Wynne family. Shown from the rear, It has a semi-circular canopy (partially supported on bricks) with a broken finial. There is relief ornamentation of round-headed arches on the end panels and back. The inscription has been weathered away.
