Be-gin to weave over and under around the centerfrom left to right, pulling the weaver downclose to the center. Fig. 15. Great care must be taken that the spokes areevenly separated by the time the third row iswoven, so that the spokes come out in a straightline from the center. When one strand of raflia has been used, a Rattan Mats. 33 weaver of No. 1 rattan is inserted behind aspoke and the weaving continued. It will be necessary to hold on to the end ofthe rattan weaver, to prevent its slipping, untilthe weaver passes over it in weaving the secondrow. This will bind it firmly. Bring each rowdown to the preceding one. The rattan shouldnot be drawn too tight, as the mat must be keptflat. If a full length weaver is used, it will
