Ohio, has been appointed generalmechanical engineer ofall the New York Cen-tral Lines west of Buf-falo, with office at Chi-cago, a new Ayers was graduatedfrom Cornell Universityin 1900 as a mechanicalengineer, and began rail-way work with the LakeShore & Michigan South-ern as a special appren-tice in the same year,and he has been con-nected with the LakeShore ever since. Hewas special inspectorfrom 1903 to 1905, andin the latter year wasmade night engine houseforeman at Elkhart, next year he wasmade assistant general foreman of the CoUinwood shops, and in 1907 was promotedto superintendent of shops at Elkhart. From January 1, 1908,to November 1 of the same year he was assistant superintendentof shops at CoUinwood, and on the latter date was appointedassistant master
