This gentleman, the fifth of the ten children of Barnardand Ann AVilhelm Creasinger, was born in the township ofPerrysburg, Ashland Co., Ohio, March 10, 1844. His great-grandfather, Michael Creasinger, emigratedfrom Germany to Bucks Co., Pa., prior to the war of theRevolution, and during the long struggle which resultedin the independence of the United States served sevenyears in the Continental army. He participated in many. SOLOMON p. CREASINGER. engagements and received several wounds. His wife alsoaccompanied him in all his campaigns, and did much toalleviate the sufferings of the sick and wounded the close of the war Michael Creasinger settled inAugusta, Northumberland Co., Pa. His son Henry, fatherand grandfather of Barnard and Solomon P. Creasinger,respectively, was born in the latter place. He served withcredit in a regiment during the war of 1812-14. Of Henrys family, Barnard was born during thelast war with Great Britain. He (Barnard) remained inNorthumberland until the year 1837, when he removed tothe State of Ohio, and from thence to Essex, Clinton Co.,Mich., in 1857. In recent years he has been engaged incommercial pursuits in the village of Maple Rapids, wherehe still resides.
