PEAS Butterfly, French gray Cardinal, scarlet-crimson. Countess Radnor lavender. Delight, white, crimson crest. Eniilv Henderson, ivory white Queen of the Isle, white and red striped All the above 16 named kinds, 4 cents pkt.; oz are not half ap- Jpreciated, and people are just beginning to re- alize their great beauty and value as a cut flower, consequently the demand is yearly increasing, and greater efforts are being made to originate new va- rieties. Cut the blooms off by the handful as fast as they develop, the plants will then bloom all sum- mer, whereas, if allowed to go to seed, they stop blooming; so cut the flowers all you can. It is not generally known that the flowers will last, when cut, a long time in water. The waxy flowers and foli- age make a lovely contrast, and the perfume is deliciously delicate. Plant early and deep. A trench 6 inches deep, with Veil rotted manure or phosphates, covered with soil about 1 inch, making the seed 5 inches deep, is best. You should try some of the new varieties recently introduced. Cupid.—This extraordinary New Dwarf Sweet Pea has been universally admired, and has received more flat- tering testimonials wherever exhibited, than any other sort heretofore introduced. It is of dwarf habit, growing only 5 inches in height, showing no tendency to climb, and spreading out so as to completely fill a 12-inch pot; the flower stems growing about four inches in length, each stem having 2 to 3 flowers, both opening at same time; flowers pure white, the flant completely covered with flowering shoots, t is an exceptionally free bloomer, beginning to flower in May and continuing until October, making it equally desirable for borders, bedding in masses and for cut flowers.
