A Saxon sport crossbow with gaffle, circa 1830, Heavy iron prod with a later hemp string and original decorative woollen tassels. The inside of the bow embellished with floral ornaments. The original bridle of cord with tassels made of wool pompoms. The walnut tiller with quarrel groove and overlay of bone. Iron nut with brass bolt clip. Set trigger, iron finger rests. On the cheek an inlaid compass rose made from black horn and bone. Also, the corresponding wooden gaffle inlaid with a monogram plaque "SGF" in bone. Length 80 cm.
