Portrait of '...a fine old Englishman who has just attained the age of one hundred the reminiscences of his boyhood is his having witnessed the funeral procession of King George the Second, in November, Centenarian is much respected; he has been an abstemious man throughout his long life: he may say with trusty old Adam: "In my youth I never did apply Hot and rebellious liquors in my blood". is from a old gentleman managed, without difficulty, to mount four flights of stairs, to sit for the process. It is an admirable likeness; and the features have a placid and benevolent expression, which is remarkably pleasant: the age is, in the words of the poet, "frosty, but kindly".'
