He w^aseducated in the public schools of thatcity, and then entered the University ofWisconsin, where he studied for one year,and then made application and was ad-mitted to the First Officers TrainingCamp at Fort Sheridan. Receiving acommission as second lieutenant he wasordered to Camp Custer, Battle Creek,Mich., where he remained until July,1918, when he sailed for France with the3 38th Infantry. Upon arrival overseas,Lieutenant Nord was transferred to theI 28th Infantry, with which r-egiment heremained until killed. He was promotedon November 3, 1918. On November10th, Lieutenant Nord while out on apatrol close to the Boche lines, was mor-tally vv^ounded, and it is thought that theGermans buried him v^here he fell. Hewas unmarried.
