The Old Civil Registry, situated at the Burg Square, was built between 1534 and 1537 in Renaissance style. The original decorative statues were smashed to pieces in 1792, but later renovated. The main statues at the Burg Square represent Justice, Moses and Aaron. There is also a statue of Count (Markgrave) Baldwin I Iron Arm (830s-879) with two ladies by his side topping the archway at the rear of the Old Civil Registry Archway.
