Moroccan special operations forces personnel receive instruction on military information support operations 8 March 2017 during Exercise Flintlock 2017. Instructors from Special Operations Command Forward Northwest Africa conducted a series of training sessions to a select group of Moroccan operators in order to teach them MISO concepts, tactics, techniques and procedures. This special operations skillset supports operations by informing civilian populations and earning their trust and support and by degrading enemy influence capabilities. The training consisted of communications planning, capability employment options, audience analysis and practical application. The capability requires very little in the way of resources – the ability to research intended audiences, a means to communicate information to those audiences, whether printed or broadcasted and personnel trained in the skillset.
