Mention The Review when you write. and that orders for field-grown plants are now beginning to accumulate, while orders for cuttings still come in at a good rate. P. J. Olinger, of Newcastle, Ind., be- ing shut off from his wholesale house in Cincinnati during nearly two weeks' flood, shipped his stock to Kennicott Bros. Co. O. Johnson, of the Batavia Green- house Co., says that peonies have ap- peared above ground this week in their big plantation. Last week John Michelsen, of the E. C. Amling Co., escorted a party of flower show trade visitors on a tour of inspection of the Maywood and Elm- hurst growers. Maywood has been nicknamed Peaville. It is said there are only two growers in the colony there who do not devote more or less space to sweet peas. O. W. Frese says that he does not remember a time in his many years' ex- perience when it was so difficult to handle shipping orders as has been the case in the last two weeks. The floods so interrupted the telegraph and express service that one never knew what could be done. Conditions are now much im- proved. .Tames Psenicka and W. Bezdek, who started in business as the Northwestern Floral Co., are in a peculiar situation. They are good friends, but decided to dissolve partnership. There were twelve houses, divided by a road, seven on the south side, five on the north, but only one heating plant. Mr. Bezdek took the larger section, paying for the extra size, and will heat the other range until May 1, when Mr. Psenicka expects to have his own boilers working.
