He was azealous student, had written some text-books,and had the capacity of imparting his enthusiasmto his pupils, besides winning the confidence of alarge class of patrons. In 1854 he married MissPhrocine Whiteside, in the same year was electedCounty Superintendent of Schools, but in Novem-ber, 1S55. soon after the passing away of hisfatlier. his promising career was cut short by hisdeath at the age of twenty-seven yr:irs.
