A schoolis maintained here by the Christian church, which has erectedbuildings at this point for the accommodation of land in the vicinity of Bethel for several miles in everydirection has been entered under the homestead act, and isbeing occupied and cultivated by actual settlers. Floyd. Nine miles west of Bethel is the settlement and post officeof Floyd. Floyd has a general store and a neat school build-ing only recently completed.
