Children as well as older people are affected by their environments,and nowhere is this more clearly shown than in the schoolroom. Thesilent beauty radiating from the harmoniously tinted walls and ceilings,from beautiful decorations consisting of pictures, casts and plants,quickens and purifies the taste. This type of schoolhouse is now practically extinct in Kansas, although ten years agoit was not uncommon in some of the western portions of the state.
