Kids play outside the Arriaga Theatre in Bilbao, Spain.

Architect Federico de Ugalde was charged with the task of rebuilding Bilbao`s Arriaga Theatre after the previous building burnt down on December 22nd 1914. It re-opened as a much stronger, safer and larger building on June 5th 1919. The first show was the opera, "Don Carlo" by Giuseppe Verdi, performed by the Ercole Casali Company. The building has been renovated and saved from falling into disrepair many times since by various different owners. It is currently owned by the municipality of Bilbao.
