From the first of her disasters she was saved by prompt surgicalinteference, and she might even have been saved the second time,but there can be no doubt that the poor womans doom was sealedbefore medical assistance reached her, and there was no time thento effect the interference which was necessary. All the appearancesof the preparation point to the fact that the womans estimate ofthe period of her pregnancy was correct, and we have therefore anindication that the interstitial form of pregnancy does, as we mighthave expected it would, take a longer time to arrive at the periodof primary rupture than do those cases in which the pregnancyoccupies the free part of the tube. In these latter we have noevidence as yet of any instance going beyond the twelfth orthirteenth week before primary rupture.
