Remains of the Katiki boulders on the beach near Shag Point, Their more famous cousins are some 12 km north of these at Moeraki.


These boulders at near Shag Point are some 12 km south of their more famous cousins at Moeraki. they are more individual than those at Moeraki but share a similar composition of mud and silt cemented with calcite. Unlike ythose at Moeraki these are on a rocky shore. They are hard to find, have no attendant tourist attractions and hence are far less visited.
