Foster, the head of the firm, says it will be the largest retail flower store in the west end, and he expects to make it a win- ner from the start, inasmuch as busi- ness in the west end differs greatly from that of downtown. This will leave only three flower stores in the extreme downtown business district. Carl Goebel, son of Phil Goebel, head of Reservoir park, has passed the exam- ination at the Missouri Botanical Gar- den and is now a student there. Mr. Jennecke, superintendent of the garden, has everything looking at its best. The large conservatories that are being built there by the Pierson U-Bar Co., of New York, are being pushed to com- pletion. These new additions are great attractions for the visitors. The Retail Florists' Association will hold its regular monthly meeting at the Washington hotel on Monday evening, September 16, at 8 o'clock. All mem- bers are expected to attend, as im- portant business will be transacted. J. J. B. WASHINGTON, D. 0. The Market. The condition of the market is prac- tically the same as previously reported. Several weddings and a large amount of funeral work have been keeping the stores busy, although the roliune of business as a whole is not great. The Queen Beatrice and Mrs. Taft roses are in good form and some few Lady Hil- lingdon are being shown.
