The draining yard or pen,6 X 12 feet, is divided by a partition so as to make twoinclosures, each of which will hold 8 sheep. One man puts thesheep into the vat; two men, one on each side, care forthem when there, and a boy opens the gate, when neces-sary at the rear of each dripping pen. From three tofour sheep are in the tank at one time, and they remainin two minutes. The dip is prepared by utilizing theboiler in the hog house. The eaves of the hog house sup-ply the vat with more or less water all the time, and thisis used in preparing food for the swine, but the vat isthoroughly cleansed after each dipping. In this way butlittle more than an hour is used for dipping 100 sheepafter all things have been made ready for the work.
