He is credited with inventing the definition of the musical genre that was later popularized worldwide with his song Do the Reggay in 1967. He is also the lead singer of the group Toots and the Maytals which he founded with Jerry Mathias and Raleigh Gordon. August 4, 2017, Bordeaux, France.
