Retina and age-related macular degeneration or AMD degenerative retinal disease. Representation of the healthy retina and the 2 forms of AMD: dry or atrophic AMD with a drusen (yellow) in which the pigment epithelium is atrophied, and photoreceptors destroyed. Wet or exudative AMD with choroidal neo-vessels that causes edema and detachment of the pigment epithelium and disorganization of photoreceptors.
