Carson Cleasby, a heavy equipment operator with 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, waits for students of Kitatama Elementary School to approach a crosswalk at Kitatama Elementary School, Chatan, Okinawa, Japan Jan. 7, 2021. Every Tuesday and Thursday, military community volunteers serve as crossing guards to assist elementary students and staff crossing a busy neighborhood intersection. The volunteers received letters of appreciation for their work from the Kitatama Community Center.
