Much ofthis Great Wall has been destroyed, but as it originally stood onthe border line between Mongolia and China proper, with all itswindings and the double and triple lines erected at some points,it had a total length of about 2,000 miles. Its mean height wasabout twenty-six feet and its width twenty feet.
