The" Big Dance" was installed at the World Famous Old Blacksmith’s Shop at Gretna Green in 2010. The 13ft-tall structure, depicting two clasped hands, will form an impressive backdrop for the 700,000 people who visit the attraction every year. The work was commissioned by Alasdair Houston, executive chairman of Gretna Green Group, the family-run company that owns the complex. The sculpture was created by County Durham artist Ray Lonsdale, it is constructed of weathering steel, the same material used on the Angel of the North.
