Tawney Perdue jokes around on the porch of their home in Prenters with her son Mason. Tawney flushed her home system three times after the spill and official announcement not to drink on Jan. 9. She says that the price of water at the local shops has skyrocketed, “Before the spill it was $2 a case, now it’s $6. Who can afford it?” Although the authorities have sad it is now ok to use the water, she says she can still feel the water burning her skin when she gets in the shower. Standing next to her in the house, friend Tabitha Adkins interjects, “I will never use tap water again.”
