26/05/2022 Sheerness On Sea. Isle Sheppey UK Sheerness On Sea is a seaside town located on the Kent side of the Thames Estuary. The town has an uncomfortable relationship with the wreck of the SS Richard Montgomery that run aground on a sandbank in 1944 and whose broken hull is filled with 1,400 tonnes of explosives. It is planed to remove the masts of the wreck later this year.
